Project Post Mortem

What would you do if you had more time?

With more time I think this project could have used more data testing & balancing. We came up with a lot of scenarios & did some data balancing, however, to get this to be a more polished, engaging game I think additional fleshing out of those mechanics would be a great place to start.

What would you do differently next time?

This was my first full-semester project, so I didn’t know what was feasible or how best to manage it. Since this was for a club and not class it was hard to estimate time commitments. In the future I would do a better job of getting everyone on the same page & getting realistic ideas on how much time people are willing to devote to projects. For the game, I would not code it in the same way that I did. I wasn’t sure on how best to code in Unity, so I didn’t comment as much as I should have.

What did you learn?

I was able to learn a lot about developing text-based games in Unity. I was able to learn about proper UI & text/image placement in engine. As a group, we got better at estimating how long tasks would take us & what we were capable of achieving in a set time frame. I was able to take the opportunity to get better at task & team management.
